B Lab is not a conformity assessment body under Regulation (EU) No. 765/2008 or a national, European, or international standards body under Regulation (EU) No. 1025/2012. The BIA criteria are separate and independent from the harmonized standards established by ISO or other standards bodies and are not ratified by national or European public institutions.
