Our history of fervent discoveries, lively passion and tenacious commitment began in the 1960s, when Gianfranco Modenese laid the foundations for the success of today’s Relaxshoe Srl benefit corporation. 1960s
Gianfranco Modenese created Modenese Srl Creazioni Luca Shoes.
1970s
The company — known the world over for its women’s sandals and shoes with ergonomic insoles guaranteeing comfort, relaxation and durability, and for its plastic boots and sandals — soon became Italy’s leading exporter to Germany, Scandinavia and the Arab Emirates.
1980s
Relaxshoe Srl was founded in 1984 and the first women’s collection of leather shoes, an expression of comfort and well-being, took shape. Galmod Srl, a plastic injection-moulded footwear manufacturer, was founded in 1985. In just a few years it became an important private label, working with well-known international brands due to its production capacity and flexibility, continuous innovation and evolution in the search for materials, shapes and colours.
Today
Stimulating audacity, outstanding temperament, firm choices and hard work are the foundations and heritage of what has now become an established company with international recognition.
In May 2025, Relaxshoe reached another important milestone by celebrating 40 years in the shoe business.
In 1999, Relaxshoe and Galmod merged into a single company that cleverly combined several brands:
- Relaxshoe, the company’s historical, essential brand aimed primarily at the foreign market.
- EasynRose, the top line in the most sought-after and exclusive range of leather shoes.
The perfect combination of comfort and style. - FreeLifeAB, the youngest line from Relaxshoe, always in step with current trends. Items with a street flair that have become a must-have in any season.

Today, Gianfranco Modenese relies on the contribution of his sons, Giuseppe and Paolo, who have taken up their father’s legacy and his invaluable passion.
